I am a bit afraid to show the disgusting picture from the beginning...but I hope it will be helpful for someone considering surgery.
I guess the reason why I got this unpleasant bump was because I was standing long time a day while working at the previous company before I changed jobs.
As I have not felt hurt or itch, it just looked bad though, I have left it alone for over ten years.
▲My family repeatedly showed me and collected hospital advertisements, but I didn't take them seriously, so I didn't take any action until that point.
●However, in another case, I often developed acarine rashes on my body, so I had to see a dermatologist nearby. When I asked about varicose veins, which I had been concerned about, based on the flow of the consultation, I immediately asked her to check whether the vascular outpatient department was open.
As there was an available appointment day, I booked the surgery immediately.
★First of all, the most important reason is that the doctor's impression was very good.
It's easy to adjust my duty off day due to Covid-19 situation, I just thought now is the time!
Everybody asked me, "Are you sure you can take the general anesthesia? You don't have to do it, do you?"
I was given a negative impression, but my decision remained unchanged.
Without hesitation, we set a date for the surgery at the cardiovascular center of the hospital.
In the preoperative checks,
●Check the image of the affected area with echo.
●Moderate progression. They also confirmed that the disease will not heal even if it gets worse.
●The reason for the lump is that there are many veins, and one of the valves has failed to prevent regurgitation, and the blood flow that could not be returned to the heart has accumulated.
●Normally, the calf pumps blood back to the heart.
▲In the past, surgery to remove the ends of blood vessels was difficult.
■Over the past 10 years, however, laser burning has become the standard method of destroying blood vessels.
●Make holes in each big bump and crush it.
●After a few months, almost all traces disappeared.
●After surgery, the calf is closed with spats.
■Insurance approval for the new treatment in January 2020.
⇒ A new method of injecting glue into blood vessels to block blood flow. ( As this is a kind of new method, I did not choose it.)
●There seemed to be a high proportion of women with the disease, but in fact, women are getting more treatment because of early hospital consultations for wearing skirts.
On the other hand, men don't come to the hospital because they hide in their trousers and don't care much.
(However, when the pigment changes or the pain comes out, pactients are worried and come to the hospital.)
▲By the way, the doctor said when he looked up this disease on the Internet, he found that a clinic with a bad reputation appeared first, and it became a problem at the academic meeting.
👇
The problem is that it is covered by insurance.
It is said that there are some bad methods to induce the treatment which is not covered by insurance and seduce to charge a high amount.
Instead of the treatment cost which is usually less than 100,000 yen, but some clinic offer the treatment which is 600,000 yen or so?!
(On the internet, the treatment fee was about 4 -50,000 yen, but in my case, it was 70,000 yen for surgery and 10,000 yen for a room, which was less than 80,000 yen.)
●Usually day surgery or night surgery.
●Anesthesia differs according to local anesthesia, general anesthesia and hospital.
●In my case, I chose general anesthesia.
General anesthesia will be given in the operating room.
A procedure in which an anesthetic is placed on the back of the hand along with an infusion.
When the female doctor in charge of anesthesia said, "It might hurt a little bit," it really hurt, but it seemed that the anesthesia worked instantaneously, and it is true that I don't remember anything after that.
When I calmly thought about the fact that there were about five women in the operating room, including a female doctor and anesthesiologist, I was told by my wife later and was shocked.
"You must have been very embarrassed to be naked ..."
●The anesthetic was so effective that I couldn't wake up until evening.
●Maybe because of the anesthesia, I felt a little sluggish and nauseous rather than pain.
▲I thought I could go home by myself before the operation, but I felt at ease because my family came to pick me up.
●After the surgery, the pain continued to be tight in my legs for a while, but I could sit on my knees in about a week.
●There was no problem in the follow-up checkup for 1 week after the operation. I felt there was no problem myself.
●Two weeks after the operation, I had almost a normal scab, which looked like nothing but a scratch.
●After that, I walked, played tennis and felt a little tense, but it stopped soon.
●The doctor confirmed that there was no problem at the final diagnosis after a month.
He also said the scab will soon disappear, and the lumps after the blood vessels have been removed will become soft and assimilated with the skin cells.
